For active acne, Fotona’s laser treatment reduces acne inflammation through photoselective absorption and controlled heating effects. Fotona’s high powered Nd:YAG laser safely penetrates the skin to an optimal treatment depth to thermally and selectively destroy overactive sebaceous glands.

In addition to its thermal penetration effects, the Nd:YAG acne laser treatment also accelerates the healing process and stimulates collagen remodeling, an important step in the long-term treatment of acne.

The Acne Facial Treatment

To begin your acne facial, your provider will thoroughly cleanse your skin before administering a steam treatment to help soften the pores and the sebaceous debris that may be clogging them. Next, your skin will be exfoliated using a salicylic acid peel. The exfoliation step helps to remove dead skin cells and dirt that are on the surface of your skin. To further cleanse the skin of any impurities, your esthetician will perform extractions on any blackheads or clogged pores. At this stage of the facial, your skin is primed and ready for a mask. The mask is chosen based on your skin type and goals. In most cases, acne facials use a sulfur mask. When the mask is done sitting, it is removed before moisturizer and SPF are applied as a final touch. 

Acne Facial Results

Immediately after your acne facial, you will notice an increase in the smoothness and clarity of your skin. With additional treatments, you will even notice a dramatic decrease in the occurrence and appearance of acne. There is no downtime with an acne facial. You may resume any normal activities immediately following treatment. Your skin may appear red due to the extractions, but this will go away after a few hours.
